Turkish Airlines Have the Best Year Ever

Turkish Airlines officials have just announced that, in 2018, their goal is to fly 74 million passengers, which will be their all time record. 

This year, as the Turkish Airline’s official stated in their Istanbul Stock Exchange filling, their plans are to have a total of 74 million passengers in 2018. This includes 41 million on international flights, and 33 on domestic flights.

The official also said that $11.8 billion in sales revenue is their target this year.

The airline also expects capacity to increase this year by having a 5-6 percent increase year-on-year, which means some 183 million ASK (Available Seat Kilometers), which is the airline’s full passenger capacity measurement in kilometers.

As they stated: “Available Seat Kilometers increase in Turkey, is expected to be 10%, in Middle East 9%, in Europe and in the Far East 6%, In America 4%, and in Africa 3%.”

They also estimate that this year the seat occupancy in Turkish Airlines planes, will be around 80%. The airline also expects an increase in mail and cargo delivery, which is expected to increase by 21%. This translated into weight is the equivalent of approximately 1.3 million tons.
